Schubert

I’m finding immense joy in the task of learning a handful of Schubert songs that I’ll be singing alongside my own music next week at (le) poisson rouge. There’s an odd obsessive pleasure to sitting with my bizarro German-English dictionary iPhone app, scrawling the German into my score (Peters Edition), and then doing my best to contort my mouth into those unfamiliar formations that produce those deliciously agro German vowels.
